HOME AND LIVING SUPPORT

NDIS Home and Living Support in Sydney

Explore living arrangements and support that can help you feel at home, build independence and stay connected to your community.

The Housing Connection works with adults with disability, families and support coordinators across Northern Sydney. We can help you understand the options we provide and talk through what may suit your goals, support needs and NDIS plan.

FINDING THE RIGHT FIT

Start with the life you want to live

There is no single way to live independently. We start by listening to where you want to live, who you want around you and what support feels right. Then we help you explore the THC services and living arrangements that may fit.

Home and Living Pathways

These options cover different kinds of support and housing. What you can access depends on your needs, goals and approved NDIS funding. Your home. Your choice. Support shaped around what matters to you.

Step 11

Supported Independent Living (SIL)

SIL funds support workers to help with daily tasks at home. It may suit people who need regular or 24/7 assistance and want support to build skills or maintain independence.

Step 22

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

SDA is specialist housing for eligible people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. Housing funding and in-home support funding are separate.

Step 33

Individualised Living Options (ILO)

ILO is a flexible package of supports built around how and where you choose to live. THC currently supports community living through carefully matched co-tenancy models.

Step 44

Flexible Support at Home

Depending on your plan, drop-in support can help with daily activities, personal care, skills and community connection.

Housing and support are not always funded in the same way

Understanding the difference can help you make a more suitable enquiry and avoid confusion about what is included.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) funds support

SIL generally funds the help or supervision you receive at home. It does not fund the home itself, rent or everyday living costs.

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funds specialist housing

SDA funds the specialist design and features of an eligible home. Support inside the home needs separate funding, usually SIL.
