What is Plan Management?

Plan Management is one of the funding management options available under  the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). A Plan Manager will support you with the financial administration of your NDIS plan. Plan Management enables you to choose to engage services from people who are not registered with NDIS, giving you greater flexibility, and purchasing scope for your funding.  It involves your chosen Plan Manager, assisting you to develop your annual budget in line with your NDIS plan, and to pay for services you have chosen.

At The Housing Connection (THC), we understand how overwhelming it can be to manage a NDIS plan and budget, especially considering the various rules and regulations involved. This is where our role as your Plan Manager comes into play. Our primary goal is to ease the stress associated with managing your NDIS plan and budget, freeing up your time and energy so that you can focus on achieving your goals.

As your Plan Manager, we take on a variety of responsibilities. These include processing invoices from your chosen service providers, tracking your budget, ensuring compliance with NDIS guidelines, providing monthly statements, and preparing and submitting expense claims to the NDIS. By handling these administrative tasks, we ensure that your funds are managed effectively and efficiently and that you clearly understand your spending and remaining funds.

Another key aspect of our role is to provide you with support and advice. We help you understand the financial aspects of your NDIS plan, explain how your funds can be used, and guide you through any changes or updates to the NDIS pricing and regulations.

It’s important to note that the NDIS covers the cost of Plan Management fees. This is funded under the Improved Life Choices category, meaning it doesn’t come out of your core support budget, and it is entirely funded by NDISat no cost to you.  In the case that this category isn’t included in your plan, we recommend you contact your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to discuss adding it.

Petra Kinska

Plan Manager/ Accountant

Petra has been working in finance for many years and completed her Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) at Kings Own Institute in Sydney. Her first internship was at an accounting company when she was 17. For Petra, her job is not just a regular job, it is her dream job.

She started at THC in 2018 as an intern during her studies. It was not long after the implementation of the NDIS. Over the years, she has gained a lot of experience with the NDIS, and became familiar with many clients and their circumstances. She has attended many seminars to understand how to help participants in the most beneficial way. Her biggest passion is to help people make their life easier and reduce the stress of dealing with providers. Petra is empathetic and is always trying to find ways to meet clients’ needs.

Yusuke Miyazaki

Plan Manager/ Finance Assistant

Yusuke joined The Housing Connection (THC) in October 2020. Yusuke completed Bachelor of Economics in Japan and Master of Professional Accounting at Wollongong University. He has worked as a Company Accountant (engaged in general accounting duties including internal auditing, budget allocation, cost control, etc) for over 15 years in Sydney. 

Now, Yusuke has started a new career as a Finance Assistant at THC and we are delighted to have him join the Plan Management team. He would be glad to support THC clients to better manage their funds and spending.
