Disability Housing in the Heart of Northern Sydney

The Housing Connection has supported people with disability to live in their own homes and stay connected to their community for more than 45 years.

Our current accommodation options include SIL and SDA-funded pathways across Northern Sydney. Each home is different, so we will help you understand the location, funding requirements, support model and whether a current vacancy may be the right fit.

SIL/SDA Accommodation Vacancy

Property: Williams Street, Roseville

SDA Design Category: Fully Accessible and Improved Liveability

A bespoke SDA-enrolled housing option for people who need accessible housing and coordinated support at home. Participants require both SDA and SIL funding.

The property includes individual homes with access to 24/7 support through a staff hub and sleepover model, subject to each person’s NDIS plan.

The vacancy is for the upstairs, recently renovated SDA unit, offering a shared living arrangement for someone seeking a stable home environment with consistent support available.

Located in Roseville, the property offers a quieter residential setting with access to local amenities, transport and community support.

This is a two bedroom unit shared with one existing participant – a woman in her 50s who lives an active and engaged lifestyle and regularly spends time out in the community. She is seeking a housemate who is comfortable sharing their home and values both independence and some level of connection.

SIL Accommodation Vacancy

Property: Willoughby

SDA Design Category: Fully Accessible and Improved Liveability

This is a wonderful opportunity for a participant to call Willoughby their home, and receive 24/7 person centred care.

The available room includes a private ensuite with walk-in wardrobe, a queen bed and mattress, private balcony, free garage parking, study desk and chair, and fast internet connection. The apartment is in a highly accessible location with local buses, pharmacies, medical centres and shops located within footsteps.

Co-Tenant Vacancy

Property: Willoughby

In addition to the SIL vacancy above, there is also a vacancy for a co-tenant in the same apartment in another bedroom.

A quiet two-level apartment in Willoughby, suited to someone who is kind, reliable, patient and who can offer stability and routine. The apartment is in a convenient location between Chatswood and the City, with a bus stop, pub, restaurants, pharmacy and medical centre all within about 5 minutes’ walk.

The available room includes a private room with a large wardrobe, a queen bed and mattress, private balcony, free garage parking, desk space, fast Wi-Fi, regular commercial cleaning and discounted rent with bills included. The bathroom is shared with a long term participant from THC, a man in his 50s.

The co-tenant vacancy may suit someone with experience or interest in disability support, social work, psychology, community services, nursing, allied health, early childhood or education and who works locally or requires easy access to the city. The home is close to Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH). The role is mainly about being present in the home, encouraging positive daily routines where needed and communicating with the support team if concerns arise.

SIL Accommodation Vacancy

Property: Victoria Street, Roseville

A large older-style shared home in Roseville with a long-term community feel. It is located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood with local buses and a 10 minute walk to the Roseville train station. This home may suit someone looking for regular support at home, shared routines and opportunities to build relationships through everyday life and social activities. The home is spacious, allowing for a balance of shared living and personal space.

The vacancy is for an upstairs bedroom, offering a shared living arrangement for someone seeking a stable home environment with consistent support.

Roseville also offers participants the opportunity for respite stay while they transition into a longer term accommodation. Roseville is open to people looking for short term accommodation.

The home is shared with two long-term participants with one additional room used for overnight support. One participant is a man in his 50s who lives with a profound intellectual disability. He leads an active lifestyle, enjoys daily bush walks, and follows a consistent routine. The second participant is an older man (in his 60s) who requires medical and health support and is relatively independent in the community with the support of his network.

Our Artarmon Property

A well-connected home in Artarmon with strong access to transport, local shops and community life. This option may suit someone who wants to stay connected in Northern Sydney while receiving tailored support at home. This property offers four two-bedroom units that provide both individual and shared 24/7 support. Currently, there are 5 participants living at Artarmon.

Is This the Right Fit for You?

Our current accommodation vacancies may be suitable if you have an active NDIS plan with home and living funding, or you are working with your Support Coordinator to request the right funding.

THC homes generally support people with moderate to high support needs who want to live in Northern Sydney and be part of a stable home environment. Some properties require SIL funding only, while William St requires both SDA and SIL funding.

You will generally need Supported Independent Living funding in your NDIS plan. Your Support Coordinator can help you understand whether SIL funding is already included or whether you may need to request it.

SIL funds the support delivered inside the home. SDA funds the physical home when someone needs specialist housing because of their disability-related needs. Some properties require SIL only, while others, including William St, require both SDA and SIL funding.
