Key Learning Outcomes from Tech Guru

Anne

Has improved her memory using the Memory2 App. She also practices typing on the Typing Club app. She has also been supported to use her banking app on phone to pay bills, manage her money and saving plan.

Duncan

Has been learning to use and practice his communication uses proloquo2go. This is an assistive technology program that helps him communicate on his iPad. He also practices spelling on iPad Notes and Youtube. Duncan is non-verbal and using this has improved his communication and use of words when talking to others.


Lisa

She uses the bomb weather app to check the weather and develop her communication skills. Lisa also gets support to practice how to use her phone properly to make phone calls and send text messages, to keep in contact with her family, so that they know she is safe, and to make plans with friends. She uses the Jicksaw and Memory2 game to improve her memory.


Chris

Has been practising for the NSW Drivers Licence test. He also receives support to use his phone properly to make video calls and send text messages.


Susan

Has been learning to use the computer more efficiently. She currently works in UNSW and University of Sydney and identified a need to improve her typing for her paid and voluntary work. She uses Microsoft word to practice her typing skills, has learnt how to use a mouse and to log in on windows.

Susie

Has been supported to use iCalendar on her iPad, to schedule her outings and meetings with people. She also been learning how to use email to send messages to staff, friends and family. Susie also learnt how to use Airdrop to send photos and videos.

I hold a Bachelor degree in Information Technology and have hands on experience in Information technology and Cybersecurity. Also as an experienced disability support worker, I am passionate about helping clients develop digital literacy and use technology to enhance independence and daily life.
