We would like to thank everyone who completed our three-year independent surveys, supported by X Ref. The survey results are out and we will be communicating the detailed results with you shortly through email. The overall results were encouraging and, in most cases, we were well above the sector benchmark on each question. Here’s a brief overview of the survey findings:
The Australian Parliament has approved changes to the NDIS legislation which means there will be some changes to the way the NDIS works, effective from 3rd October 2024. These changes include a new definition of NDIS supports, outlining what NDIS funding can and cannot be spent on, with further details to be shared after community consultation. While most people won’t notice immediate changes, from 3 October, all funding must only be spent on approved NDIS supports. Plans reviewed after this date will also transition to a total budget format, showing the full amount of funding available, initially for 12 months. The NDIA will guide participants through these updates, providing timely information and support, and ensuring no one is left behind. More resources, including videos and newsletters, will be available, and participants are encouraged to subscribe for updates and feedback opportunities through Participant First. Click here for more information regarding these changes.
After careful consideration, the Trolley Bag Project officially ended on 5th September. This was not an easy decision and plenty of notice has been provided to affected participants. We have a large amount of trolley bags and other stock that we are looking to sell (great idea for Xmas presents!). We also have some sewing machines that we are looking to re-home and if you are interested please contact the office. Trolley bags, crafted by participants, can be purchased on line and we can post items or have them collected from the office. Shop our collection here: https://thc.org.au/shop/
