The Housing Connection currently has access to Salary Benefits exemptions due to its taxation status as a ‘public benevolent institution’. This status enables The Housing Connection to offer staff additional financial benefits through ‘salary packaging’.

Salary packaging enables staff to take up to $617 of their earnings as a non-taxable component by having wages redirected to a Bendigo Bank debit card. In other words, you can package up to the allowable maximum of $16,050 each year, ensuring more in your take home pay each fortnight. This benefit becomes available to staff following their probationary period.

We provide regular opportunities for training and work along side our staff to ensure professional and personal development during their time at The Housing Connection. We offer all staff enrolment in our internal Certificate IV Disability course with TAFE NSW. We have a proven record of promoting our staff, with many of our Social Educators advancing to management positions.

We firmly believe in the need for all of our staff to have a strong work/life balance and offer a variety of starting and finishing times throughout the week, as well as casual and part time options for all staff (where appropriate). We offer study, personal and parental leave to all staff.
