Finding Disability Jobs

The Housing Connection (THC) has been helping Australian adults with disabilities to find appropriate disability jobs which meet their needs and interests. The organization offers a comprehensive transition to work program which can help a wide variety of disabled adults to attain greater independence and quality of life. They help each individual to identify their current skills and match these with their job interests in order to help each client to develop and achieve their employment goals.

The Housing Connection helps clients to improve their communication and social skills in order to prepare them for a successful job search. They also work with clients to improve their financial management skills, develop effective resumes and train for the interviewing process. Once the client’s pre-employment skills have been developed to an appropriate level, The Housing Connection works with the client to develop a job search strategy in order to find and apply for appropriate job placements.

In all of the services provided by The Housing Connection, including their disability jobs support and training services, THC strives to adhere to a strict set of standards which comply with the Australian Disability Services Act of 1993. These standards include, but are not limited to, a guarantee of service access. This ensures that every client who requests a service will be given access to the service on relative need and available resources.

Another standard which The Housing Connection holds to is the concept of service provision based on individual need. This ensures that each disabled client will receive services which are designed to meet their individual goals and needs.
